All of our ER nursing team receive advanced training in emergency medicine and trauma care.
If an ER patient needs hospitalization, the ER team works with the nursing team on the floor to ensure a seamless continuum of care during the admission process.
At the helm of our Emergency Department are our ER physicians who are trained in emergency medicine and are board certified or board eligible in their respective areas of medicine. From diagnosis to treatment, their focus is on ensuring the best possible outcome given the illness, injury, or condition. They work quickly and utilize the hospital’s imaging and laboratory services to ensure appropriate care.

Our Siemens Somatom Sensation scanner allows for 3D image reconstruction which reduces radiation exposure, exam time and provides improved imaging capabilities. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) allows physicians a closer look inside the body without requiring the use of x-rays. Using a large magnet, your body is scanned to provide very detailed pictures of areas that cannot be viewed on conventional x-rays. MRI exams make it possible for physicians to see certain types of tissue and obtain important information about the brain, spine, joints, and internal organs.
Accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR), our mammography unit allows a closer look at the tissues inside the breast using low energy x-rays to screen for cancer or breast disease. Early detection of breast cancer helps save lives. Women 40 years old, should have mammograms annually.
Full diagnostic cardiology and nuclear services are provided by Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologists who have been specially trained in nuclear medicine procedures. Services include cardiac, skeletal, genitourinary, pulmonary, and oncology imaging.

THE CASE FOR SPECIALIZED WOUND CARE: A chronic wound is a manifestation of one or more underlying conditions that becomes visible on the skin. Included are wounds with the following etiologies; Pressure, Venous, arterial, diabetic, non-healing surgical, cancer-related, inflammatory and mixed etiologies. Approximately 8 million Americans have chronic wounds. The incidence of chronic wounds is highest among the 8 percent of the total US population who are diabetic, which the Centers for Disease Control estimates at almost 26 million Americans. The literature suggests that approximately 15-24 percent of diabetic patients eventually develop foot ulcers. The recurrence rate at two to five years is greater than 50 percent, with 15-24 percent eventually requiring amputation.
According to Reiber’s Nationwide Inpatient Study, the length of hospital stay for a diabetic patient with a foot ulcer surpasses that of myocardial infarction and stroke. As the nationwide prevalence of obesity continues to grow at epidemic rates, the incidence related disease including heart disease, vascular insufficiency and diabetes increases dramatically.
Our approach to wound care is based on established best practice clinical models, where we customize a treatment program to meet the individual need of each patient served.
