Kim Thomas, RN Manager of the Med/Surg unit, was recently selected to receive this award. Kim is professional and has great integrity. She fills in on her unit as a nurse and takes on extra responsibilities as needed. Kim has been an OCH employee since 2008.Kim is very involved with her family and any activity they are part of. Kim loves spending time outdoors when she is not working. She serves on the advisory board of the local Louisiana Technical College LPN program.

Upon admission, each patient is provided Oakdale Community Hospital’s Notice of Privacy Practices Brochure. Your privacy is of utmost importance to us. In order to protect your privacy, please note that you or your family should not approach a physician or staff member concerning patient information where other people can hear your discussion, such as the hallway or in the cafeteria. You have the right to access, request amendment to, and receive an accounting of disclosures regarding your own health information as permitted under applicable law.
If a patient or caregiver is not fluent in English and needs a translator, we will work to find one in their native language. Being able to communicate during an illness or surgery is an important aspect of patient care, so please let us know if a patient or caregiver has limited proficiency in English.
Our Courtesy and Consulting Staff provides additional resources to the people of our service area and represent numerous critical healthcare disciplines. There are some members of the medical staff that are facility based physicians and bill separately for services provided. The attached list identifies those providers. Our Elizabeth clinic is located about 15 minutes from our main campus. The Oakdale clinic is a located directly across from the library in downtown Oakdale. Both clinics are providing outstanding care to residents in Elizabeth, Oakdale and the surrounding areas.
Our full-time physician and nurse practitioners are certified in family medicine and provide many services including immunizations, screenings, well-checks, colds, flu, sore throats, allergies and more. They also manage chronic diseases and conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and COPD.
KidMed services are also available at of our Elizabeth clinic.
Oakdale Community Hospital’s inpatient Physical Therapy Department deals with the treatment of pain, disease, or injury. Our therapists are concerned with the promotion of health, the prevention of physical disabilities, and the evaluation and rehabilitation of persons disabled by pain, disease, or injury. With treatment by physical therapeutic measures, we strive to promote mobility, build endurance and improve strength.
