Amy Allemand, Employee of the Quarter

Amy Allemand, RN, was recently selected as the Employee of the Quarter.  Amy works in the Emergency Department of Oakdale Community Hospital.  She started working at the hospital as a patient care technician while in nursing school.  When you see Amy one of the first things you will notice is her huge smile.  Going above and beyond to help is a quality that Amy has demonstrated over and over again.  Her willingness to change her schedule and work extra shifts when needed is noticed by all.  This shows her commitment to her job and love for her work as a nurse.

Congratulations to Amy for being an outstanding employee and one very deserving of this recognition.

Pam Jones Employee of the Quarter

Pam Jones, Surgery RN, was recently selected as Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2014.  As an employee of the hospital for 26 years, Pam is a face always present in the surgery department.  The day surgery staff members nominated Pam for this award.  In nominating her the staff wrote, “She gives 100% on a daily basis to assure this department, employees and patients are taken care of.  She always has a smile and friendly face.”   

 Mrs. Jones is another outstanding hospital employee deserving of this award and nomination.  Commitment to the organization and professional behavior are qualities the employee of the quarter displays on a consistent basis.

Jerry Taylor has been recognized as the employee of the quarter for 1st quarter 2014.  He provides excellence service to all areas of the hospital.  “Mr. Jerry”, as he is known throughout the hospital, works hard to keep the floors shining and does his work with a smile every day.  Jerry is kind and friendly to all patients, visitors and staff he encounters. 

Jerry demonstrates a commitment to providing quality service at our hospital.  This is a behavior that is valued and one that this award is based on.  Employees receiving this award must show professionalism, integrity in the way they do their work  and overall commitment.  Employees like Jerry are “making a difference” at Oakdale Community Hospital.

Evelyn Turner, Employee of the Quarter

October 23, 2013: Evelyn Turner, Dietary Associate named employee of the quarter for the period of July – September 2013.

With 16 years of service at OCH, Evelyn was recognized as an outstanding employee nominated by her coworkers.  Evelyn works diligently in dietary to make sure everyone is welcomed in a courteous and friendly manner.  

“Evelyn is the kind of employee that doesn’t try to stand out, but she does” wrote the employee submitting this nomination.  Committed, happy and reliable are words that come to mind when describing her.  Anytime you see Evelyn she is usually smiling.

With 4 girls of her own and coming from a family of 7 brothers and sisters, Evelyn is comfortable serving and being part of a team.  She is often seen at hospital or community events with her girls and grandchildren.

 In order to be named the employee of the quarter, an OCH team member must be nominated by a peer, be in good standing with the hospital and involved in civic and volunteer activities throughout the year exemplifying the values of the organization:  QUALITY, UNITY, ACCOUNTABILITY and INTEGRITY: Making a Difference in the lives of our patients, employees, physicians and partners.

Calvin Green Named CEO

Progressive Acute Care (PAC) has named James Calvin Green, Jr., as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Oakdale Community Hospital (OCH). Green will be joining the Oakdale team in July, replacing interim CEO Bill Fox.

“I am pleased to name Calvin as CEO of Oakdale. He is a proven leader and will work with the hospital team, medical staff, board and community to ensure the success of OCH,” explained Daniel Rissing, CEO of PAC. “I would also like to extend our thanks to Bill Fox, our interim CEO, for his leadership at OCH this spring as we conducted a search for a new CEO.”

Green comes to OCH with more than 35 years experience in leadership roles in regional health systems as well as community hospitals including Bolivar County Hospital in Cleveland, Mississippi; Delta Medical Center in Greenville, Mississippi; Edge Regional Medical Center in Troy, Alabama; Franklin Foundation Hospital in Franklin, Louisiana; L.O. Crosby Memorial Hospital in Picayune, Mississippi; Northshore Regional Medical Center in Slidell, Louisiana; Correct Care in Covington, Louisiana; and Riverside Medical Center in Franklinton, Louisiana.

“I look forward to joining the Oakdale community and working to further grow and define the services of Oakdale Community Hospital,” Green said. “Having a strong hospital is critical to the health and well-being of the community, and I am committed to ensuring the success of OCH and meeting the needs and expectations of all those we serve.”
